Young Bafana's Success at Telekom-Star-Kick in Bonn, Germany!
20 November 2023

On Sunday, November 5, 2023, the highly anticipated Telekom-Star-Kick, organized by Magenta-Sport and Deutsche Telekom, unfolded at the Telekom Dome in Bonn, Germany. Four charity organizations fielded teams in a “everyone against everyone” format, featuring numerous former Bundesliga soccer stars and influencers.

The Young Bafana team, led by captain Paulo Sergio (former Leverkusen, Bayern, and Brazilian national team), Lucio (World Champion 2002, among others), and German soccer legend Thomas Helmer, alongside goalkeeper influencer Mischa Bolvin, showcased impressive performances throughout the matches. Despite cruising through most games, the team faced defeat in the final against another organization, narrowly missing the overall victory in a closely contested shootout. Nevertheless, the day served as a unique experience and a significant platform to highlight the impactful work of Young Bafana in both South Africa and Germany.

The passionate support from Young Bafana enthusiasts added to the excitement, with fans rallying behind the team fervently. The opportunity to meet the YB crew and team in the dressing room proved to be a special moment, offering firsthand insight into their on-site efforts.

The event left an indelible mark on everyone involved, and the generous donation of 25,000 euros will undoubtedly bring positive changes to lives in South Africa.
