Location: Lwandle Township, Cape Town, South Africa

Duration: December 2023 to March 2024

 

Founded in 2010 in Somerset West, South Africa, Young Bafana Soccer Academy passionately fights against the social issues associated with poverty in South Africa. Our educational and sports programs are designed to make a lasting impact on our players’ lives. Currently, we are positively impacting the lives of approximately 240 children. In addition to competitive soccer in the U12, U14, U16, and U18 age groups, we integrate our soccer teams into school teams. This way, we prepare the children for a future away from the streets, enabling them to lead self-determined lives.

 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and executing the Young Bafana Charity Cup 2024, a soccer tournament in mid-February 2024 aimed at raising donations for Young Bafana
  • Support the soccer coaches on the field
  • Transport players
  • Manage training equipment
  • Conduct individual training sessions with specific players
  • Perform administrative tasks

 

Your Profile:

  • Student status is desirable but not mandatory
  • Passion for sports and soccer
  • Experience in organizing and executing events
  • Social commitment and a willingness to help and support the players
  • Team-oriented with excellent communication skills
  • Good written and spoken English skills
  • Diligent, proactive, and able to work independently
  • Adaptability to different cultures and cohabitants with a “hands-on” mentality
  • Driver’s license
