Location: Lwandle Township / Somerset West (Stellenbosch–Somerset West–Strand–Cape Town area)
Period: Mid-January 2026 – March/April 2026 (exact dates flexible)

About us:
Since 2010, Young Bafana Soccer Academy (Somerset West) has been fighting social inequality through football and education. Today, around 240 children benefit from structured training, academic support and real perspectives for the future.

Your Impact:

You’ll be the on-the-ground storyteller who captures the energy of our trainings and community—and turns it into content that moves people and mobilizes support.

You’ll also play a key role in telling the story of the Cup of Hope 2026 – our annual charity tournament that brings together local teams, international partners, and sponsors to raise funds for our academy programs and celebrate unity through football.

What you’ll do:

  • Content production on the field: Film trainings, matches, behind-the-scenes and human stories (players, coaches, parents).
  • Short-form video creation: Edit vertical videos (Reels/TikTok/Shorts), create cut-downs & highlight reels, add captions, hooks, music.
  • Photo & motion basics: Shoot photos, create simple graphics/motion snippets (thumbnails, quote cards, matchday assets).
  • Social media channel management: Plan & publish posts/stories; community management (DMs, comments); basic reporting.
  • Event coverage: Build a content plan for Cup of Hope 2026, live updates & recap videos.
  • Content calendar: Align with coaches & education team; schedule content around training blocks and key moments.
  • Brand & consent: Follow brand voice/visuals; manage consent lists and safeguard best practices for minors.
  • Light ops: Keep gear organised; maintain file hygiene (naming, drives).

What you bring:

  • You live in or can easily commute to Stellenbosch / Somerset West / Strand / Cape Town.
  • Strong feel for short-form storytelling (hook–value–CTA); sense for what’s “thumb-stopping.”
  • Practical skills with CapCut / Premiere Pro / Final Cut / DaVinci (CapCut OK!).
  • Confident with Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts (posting, analytics basics, trends).
  • You enjoy sports environments and working around the pitch; comfortable interacting with kids/teens.
  • Organised, proactive, reliable; good English (Afrikaans or German a plus).
  • Own smartphone with a good camera; bonus: mic/gimbal/DSLR.
  • Driver’s license helpful (not required).

What we offer:

  • A hands-on, formative experience with a purpose-driven NGO in South Africa.
  • Work within a dedicated, international team and get front-row access to grassroots & competitive football.
  • Real ownership: your content will go live and drive impact.
  • Participation in a major charity event (Cup of Hope 2026).
  • Accommodation in the intern house (€350/month; flights & meals not included).
  • Regular team workshops & practical learning.

How to apply:
Send your CV, a short cover letter, and 3–5 work samples (links to Reels/TikToks/Shorts or a quick showreel) by November 15, 2025 to fabian@youngbafana.com
